The Walnut Park Mutual Water Company is charged with acquiring, maintaining and carrying on a domestic potable water supply system for the supplying of water to its shareholders and residents on the approximate five hundred acres of land in Los Angeles County known as the community of Walnut Park.
The Walnut Park Mutual Water Company was first incorporated on April 30th, 1914.
The company was organized by the sub-dividers, Victor Girard Kleinberger and Frank H. Edwards of the Cudahy-Walnut Lands Company.
The shares of stock were issued to the owners and future owners of lots in the community at the rate of one share of stock for each lot.
The first meeting of the organizers and subscribers of stock was convened in the Herman W. Hellman Building, room 200, 356 South Spring Street, Los Angeles, on May 21st, 1914 at 4:30 P.M.
The organizers were Marco H. Hellman, President, Hellman Commercial Trust and Savings Bank and Vice President, Merchant's National Bank; Fred L. Baker, President, Baker Iron Works and Los Angeles Ship Building Corporation; Victor G. Kleinberger, Realator and Sub-divider; and Loius M. Cole, President, Royal Company.
Louis M. Cole was elected as the first President. Fred L.Baker was elected the Vice President and Victor G Klienberger was elected Secretary.
The Walnut Park Mutual Water Company constructed wells, pumping equipment and water mains and as each lot was sold, the owner was issued one share of stock in the water company.
The cost of constructing the water system was carried on by the Cudahy-Walnut Lands Company at no additional cost to the property owners.
